Vaknin is a controversial figure for some reason, I cannot remember why. I think because he is anti-Woke or possibly because his sister is an Israeli intelligence officer. Nonetheless, I’ve found him the most useful in discerning insights about Narcissistic people’s behaviors and distinguishing perhaps less pathological, merely abusive people from legitimate narcissists.
This video I find as one of the most insightful summaries of how the process of projection occurs through introjecting the persona of another into the Bad Object internally, so that this person contains all of the bad traits that the Narcissist rejects in themselves. You can really start to make sense and even predict a Narcissist’s behavior (should you have to deal with one) by understanding this mechanism.
